Nicko Ouellet, the founder of Nicko Music Lab, is a Canadian national and a goal driven entrepreneur and business owner with demonstrated success in building companies.
Nicko has an extensive history in music recording and production. He obtained an INIS Certification(National Institute of Image & Sound) in 2011 and a RAC Recording Certification from the Institute of Canada in 2018. In 1987, he started his professional career as a Music Store Sales Rep with Palais de la Musique in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, QC, Canada. He then moved on in 1991 to work as an Audio-Visual Specialist with Hebert & Gouin for the next four years.
In 1995, Nicko founded his own music center, Studio Nicko, which was a combined music store, music school, and recording studio. The business evolved into an international video production company, Production Studio Nicko, during 2010 and added on offerings such as corporate videos, advertising videos, 4K aerial videos, and other creative services for clients in the US and Canada. The business has been a success since its founding, attracting significant local and national press in Canada and recording over 350 albums between 1998 and 2021.
Nicko’s additional career highlights include being the Show Production Director for Floyd Memory, a Pink Floyd Tribute show in Canada from 2013 to 2020. Notwithstanding his extensive professional achievements to date through Production Studio Nicko, Nicko has also continued with his own musical career and was recently the Grand Prize Winner of the2021 Quebec Music Competition Online International for Composition.
Now, leveraging his background and skills in music recording and audio/video production as well as his experience as a business owner, Nicko is founding a “music lab” franchise with the aim of providing access to music for everyone.
